SCHOLARSHIP HIGHLIGHT| Peninsula Developmental Road Scholarships
The Queensland Government is offering Peninsula Developmental Road Scholarships as part of the Indigenous Land Use Agreement within the Cape York Region Package.
These scholarships aim to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with education expenses.
High school scholarships: 4 scholarships for students completing Year 10 in 2027
Tertiary scholarships: 2 scholarships for students commencing or continuing tertiary studies in 2027
Funding Opportunity | Active Transport
Applications are now open for $50 million through the Australian Government’s Active Transport Fund. Local councils can apply for up to $5 million for new or upgraded walking and cycling pathways, with applications closing 30 September 2026.

CYRP SWG AND TASKFORCE COMMUNIQUE (CAIRNS | MAY 2026)
The Cape York Region Package (CYRP) Taskforce (TF) and Sub-Working Group (SWG) met on 8 May 2026. The meetings were held at Cairns Regional Council meeting rooms, with a Microsoft Teams line available for attendees to connect remotely.
