Regional Development Australia Tropical North (RDATN) and Regional Arts Services Network Tropical North (RASNTN) is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent part-time position of Regional Arts Officer.
- Part-time 19 hours per week worked over 3 days.
- $40,000 PA plus super and annual leave on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2025.
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander preferred position.
Opportunity to work with RASNTN and RDATN to actively engage in, and support, the development of the regional arts industry across the Cairns, Cassowary Coast, Tablelands, Etheridge and Yarrabah regions.
Regional Arts Officers build and maintain regional arts networks. They coordinate funding for regional activities with matched funding partnerships, liaise with local councils and build the capacity of RADF/ IRADF officers and panels, support arts sector capacity to meet regional priorities, and provide a liaison point for key stakeholders such as education providers, arts organisations or local Arts Councils.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in arts/cultural project management.
- Knowledge and experience working in regional settings and working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Knowledge of and experience in organizing and delivering arts related professional development.
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing and project management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal and external relationships.
- Experience in writing, including reports for creative and professional purposes.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Based in a regional location within the Cairns and Surrounds region.
