Queensland’s Sovereign Industry Development Fund – Now Open

Queensland is open for business, and the State Government is investing in the future of Defence, Biomedical, and Biofuels industries through the $180.6 million Sovereign Industry Development Fund (SIDF).

The Fund supports strategic and catalytic projects that grow sovereign capability, draw on Queensland’s strengths, and create high-value jobs across the state.

Funding Focus:
  • New or expanded manufacturing or service capabilities
  • Common-use infrastructure
  • Projects that catalyse regional and industry-wide development
  • Projects that are investment-ready and can start within 12 months
Priority Industries:
  • Defence (including national security domains)
  • Biomedical
  • Biofuels
Who Can Apply?
  • Eligible businesses must:
  • Be a legal entity with an active ABN or ARBN
  • Demonstrate capability and financing pathway
  • Be compliant with relevant laws
  • Be ready to deliver and scale

Note: Local governments, not-for-profits, GOCs and family partnerships are not eligible.

  • Located in Queensland
  • Deliver sovereign capability
  • Not yet commenced
  • Clear commercial viability
  • Evidence of market demand
  • Tangible economic benefit to Queensland
