Tropical North Queensland Regional Food Network (TNQRFN) brings a Paddock to Plate experience, Cairns Show 2022
The Tropical North Queensland Regional Food Network (TNQRFN), also known as Taste Paradise, is a not-for-profit organization representing food and agribusiness members and foodies from the Cassowary Coast, west to the Gulf and north to Cape York.
TNQRFN has an exhibit at the 2022 Cairns Show, located in the Fred Moule Pavilion for food products and a farming demonstration at the Cairns showgrounds cattle yards area. These sites represent over 38 locally made brands giving show goers an opportunity to meet the maker, farmers and producers of the amazing range of local products grown, produced and available in FNQ.
Visit the Fred Moule Pavilion to try and buy locally made spirits, refreshing cold drinks, sauces, jams, chips, dairy products and syrups. Put aside your dagwood dog and grab a locally made cookie, cupcake or sesame snap. Take home locally caught barramundi dips, fresh locally grown fruit or vegetables or a hamper for someone special.
The TNQ RFN connects primary producers who grow food with fresh markets and food manufacturers who value add to create new food and beverage products. The TNQ RFN supports local food businesses to grow and scale, feeding domestic consumers, tourists and export markets. TNQ RFN’s core business is to develop the capacity of members through the creation of opportunities, strengthening of networks and management of resources.
The TNQ RFN proudly showcases the diversity and quality of foods grown and produced in this region. In June 2022, a FIAL (Food Innovation Australia Limited) grant was completed, providing much needed funding and support which will allow further strategic and marketing activities to continue developing local business and industry. TNQRFN would also like to thank the Cairns Regional Council and Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport QLD, and the current network members for their support in progressing the objectives of the network.
The food ecosystem of Tropical North Queensland holds great potential with passionate businesses and engaged stakeholders who are all working to build the capacity of the industry. For those people interested in joining the network please join us at the Cairns Show to discuss how you can get involved in growing TNQ Food and Agribusiness industries.
