It was a pleasure to welcome the Hon Kristy McBain MP, Minister for Regional Development, to RDA Tropical North today, joined by Matt Smith MP, Member for Leichhardt.
Our Board Members had the opportunity to update the Minister on RDATN’s current priorities and work across Tropical North Queensland, including housing, water security, enabling infrastructure, regional resilience and
economic development.
The Tropical North Queensland Economic Development Strategy 2024–2029 (TEDS) continues to guide our focus for the region, helping ensure our work remains aligned with the long-term opportunities and challenges facing Tropical
North Queensland.
The discussion also reinforced the importance of a strong, coordinated regional voice and of bringing local intelligence together to inform government decision-making.
