Northern RDA Alliance (NRDAA)
Strengthening Northern Australia
The Northern Regional Development Australia Alliance (NRDAA) brings together nine Regional Development Australia committees whose regions span Northern Australia, from the Gascoyne in Western Australia through to Gladstone in Central Queensland.
As a collaborative network, the Alliance provides a united regional voice on the priorities, challenges and opportunities shaping Northern
Australia. The NRDAA has played an active role in providing input to the Australian Government on key national initiatives, including the White Paper on Developing Northern Australia and the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility.
The Alliance aims to support all levels of government by contributing regional insight, evidence-based advice and practical perspectives that help shape policy, guide investment and support the sustainable development of Northern Australia. Through collaboration, advocacy and strategic partnerships, the NRDAA works to strengthen regional prosperity, resilience and connectivity across the north.
A United Voice for the North
Working across diverse regions, industries and communities, the Alliance provides a united voice on matters that support long-term economic growth, regional resilience and sustainable development. Through strong partnerships with government, industry and community stakeholders, we help identify priorities, connect opportunities and support practical solutions that benefit Northern Australia.
The NRDAA consists of over 60 diverse and passionate civic, community and industry leaders across the nine RDA Committees across Northern Australia.
It provides a valuable forum for collaboration on common issues, identify opportunities for local innovation and capacity building, as well
as providing leadership on regional development opportunities.
Strategic Focus
Northern Australia is a region of national opportunity, with strong potential to build on the ambitions of the Developing Northern Australia agenda. The Northern RDA Alliance supports place-based leadership, regional coordination and practical investment outcomes across the North.
Over the past 10 years, investment and collaboration have demonstrated the strength, capability and potential of Northern Australia. The next step is to ensure governance, planning and implementation are more closely aligned with regional priorities and place-based decision-making.
