The ABC recently invited young people aged 16 – 22 to share their experiences of life in regional Australia. Anyone with a story outside of the big cities was encouraged to enter, with many sent in as texts, video, audio and photo stories.
Forty winners were chosen and received an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the Heywire Regional Youth Summit in Canberra.
And with some outstanding news for FNQ, we are very excited to congratulate Oliver Gisubizo of Brinsmead, Cairns as one of the winners.
Originally from the Republic of Congo, Oliver’s story was selected as one that fostered multiculturalism. Oliver said, “Sharing my stories helped his friends understand that, like everyone in the world, Africa has its struggles, but it also has a rich history, culture and diversity.”
Please join us on congratulating Oliver and follow the link below for his full story.
