Building Better Regions Fund

The $841.6 million Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.

There are two streams of funding available under the program:

Round Four projects have been awarded and announced. (5 June 2020)
A total value of $205 million over 109 projects have been awarded under the Infrastructure Program Stream.

A total value of $2 million over 54 projects have been awarded under the Community Investment Stream.

For future rounds, to the best of our ability RDA Tropical North will provide support to potential applicants:

  • to identify and develop a strong project proposal that will contribute to long term economic growth and is a priority in our region, and
  • work with you to prepare a competitive application, supporting documents and evidence.

Note: there are rigorous eligibility and co-contribution requirements for projects. We encourage you to access the mapping tool in the grant portal where you can note the location of your project and it will advise you of your specific co-contribution requirements.
