Building Better Regions Fund

The $1.38 billion Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.

There are two streams of funding available under the program:

Round Six is currently open and applications will close on Thursday, 10 February 2022.

Round Five projects have been awarded and announced. (8 Oct 2021)
In the Far North a total value of close to $10 million over 10 projects have been awarded in the region.

RDA Tropical North Support

For future rounds, to the best of our ability RDA Tropical North will provide support to potential applicants:

  • to identify and develop a strong project proposal that will contribute to long term economic growth and is a priority in our region, and
  • work with you to prepare a competitive application, supporting documents and evidence.

Note: there are rigorous eligibility and co-contribution requirements for projects. We encourage you to access the mapping tool in the grant portal where you can note the location of your project and it will advise you of your specific co-contribution requirements.
